Veronica matthews, PRESIDENT
Greetings! I'm Veronica Matthews, President of Milton High chorus 2022-2023. I been in MHS chorus for 4 years . Milton High Chorus, its members, learning how to read music, and the feeling of being proud once a piece is learned have always made such big impacts in my life. My favorite thing to do after learning a piece is to listen to it at home. To learn more about the music piece, listen to it, and see what I can change. Big changes are in store for the Milton High Chorus and I can’t wait for everybody to experience the fun and the learning of our chorus program. Milton High chorus officers have planned events, activities, and ways we can come together and act as one. I can’t wait to meet new people and show them how music can impact their lives.
Cadence Downs, Vice President
Hi! I am Cadence Downs, Vice President of Bella Voce. I have been a member of chorus for four years, with three of those served at Milton High School. Music has become my stress release and source of calm. I believe that music is different for everybody and love having the opportunity to help others find their passion for music. Serving as VP of MHS Chorus grants me the privilege of leading others to grow in their pursuit of music.
Taylar Hale, Sr. Secretary
Chorus is my joy! With everything that has happened in the past few years, finding joy has been hard. A lot of things went wrong, and it was easy to find oneself in this negative stream of thought. Being a part of choir has helped me break out of that terrible cycle. Singing, well anything musical really, just has a way of touching the soul in a way that nothing else can. This chorus has lead me to do things that I thought that I would never do, such as: public speaking, singing alone on stage, becoming a leader, and even making it to senior year. Music and this music program definitely changes lives.
Emily Woodward, Secretary
I have always been a very shy person, so when I joined chorus it was something out of my comfort zone. While it may have been scary for me then, singing has done so much for me. I have gained so much confidence since I started as well as just an appreciation for music which has really changed my life. It's always really fun in chorus; you meet positive people and everyone is like a family. This year is gonna be the best year yet and I'm excited for all the new students and opportunities the year holds!
Kali Vernon, Uniform Guru
Hi I’m Kali! I’m going into 10th grade and I’m the uniform manager! I’m a die hard Swiftie and love music. I’ve been singing as long as I can remember, and my mom says that I’ve been singing ever since I could talk. Singing, music, and chorus have impacted my life in ways that I didn’t even know possible. Music is such an amazing way that us as people express ourselves and I wouldn’t be able to live without it. It doesn’t matter if I’m happy or sad, I’m always listening to music or singing. Chorus has brought so much positivity in my life with the singing and all the funny moments, and has also helped me create friendships with other people that love music just as much as I do, that I’m sure will last a lifetime. There wasn’t one day in the chorus classroom that I didn’t laugh or smile. The Milton High Chorus Program is just like a family. We’ve all grown tremendously and I’m so excited for us to get stronger each year to come. :)
